cast of characters

oops! i forgot to show the cast of characters in my story. this is quite necessary because most people who read this won't know who anyone in the story is! okay, here they are:

symon, the star of the story- my cat!

shadow, the other star- mamaw's cat

jitterbug, the judge of the race- my grandparent's cat

mamaw, the owner of the patio- my mamaw

great grandma, obviously symon's great grandma- my grandma

great grandpa, once again, symon's great grandpa- my grandpa

bernie, the owner of the 'bernie's house'- my cousin bernie

well, hopefully the story makes a little more sense now =) i gotta go to bed now, i'll post more later, i hope you enjoyed symon's story =)

oh, by the way, ANT janet doesn't think her foot is broken anymore. she thinks it's just a bad sprain. oh, and the reason she didn't want to go to the hospital was because she said they couldn't do anything for it except wrap it and tell her to keep ice on it (which she's already doing). see ya!

symon and shadow's peculiar race

hi! well, today in school we had to rewrite the story 'the hare and the tortoise' everyone probably knows that story. it's the one where the hare races the tortoise, and the tortoise surprisingly wins because the hare falls asleep. well, here's my version:

symon and shadow's peculiar race

one terribly rainy day, symon and his cousin shadow had nothing to do. symon was so bored he decided to tease shadow. shadow, being slow and unbelievably obese, was an easy target. eventually shadow got so vexed with the teasing he suggested a race. symon giggled and boasted that he would obviously be the champion. nevertheless, symon agreed, if only to show everyone that he was so fast and strong. finally, it was settled that jitterbug would be the judge and select the course. she decided that the race should be run from mamaw's patio to bernie's house and back. now remember, it was a cold and rainy day, and because of that the cats were understandably uneasy. symon and shadow arrived at the starting line, and jitterbug dropped shadow's toy mouse to signal the start of the race. symon shot off, covering shadow in mud and leaving him far behind. symon looked back, saw how far ahead he was, and thought, "it's only 1:o7 pm, i'll just stop in and see great grandma and grandpa. i can dry off and warm up by the fire." so that's precisely what he did.

while symon was visiting with his great grandparents, shadow passed their house and worked his way up the road. soon he reached bernie's house and started the journey back. by this time great grandma and grandpa had lulled symon into a false sense of security. they had stopped all the clocks and fed symon cookies and warm milk. after about an hour, symon realized that the clock still read 1:07 pm! symon leaped from great grandma's lap and sped through the door, over to bernie's and back home. unfortunately for symon, shadow had already won the race. in the end symon discovered that shadow had schemed up the whole plot with great grandma and grandpa, just to humiliate his older cousin symon!

the end

well i gotta go! oh yeah, symon just reminded me to tell everyone that he actually told me this story, i'm just the one that translated and typed it =)

hey! well, we just got a new computer so i don't have, like, any pictures on this one. yeah, i was gonna put a pic on my profile, but it didn't work. i emailed myself some pics of me, but it wouldn't let me copy them to my folder of pictures. oh well, i'm prob just doing it wrong. daddy can probably figure it out.
on friday nite, ben and i spent the nite at gma and gpa's house. then we spent, like, all of saturday over there, too. ANT janet broke her foot while we were there. for her sake i won't tell how it happened, but let's just say it was VERY funny to watch. but i had to refrain from laughing because she was in so much pain. grandma and grandpa are out of town and they usually clean our local library, so right now ANT janet has to clean it. yeah, i'm gonna help her tonite. i told her she needs to go to the hospital,but NOOOO! she doesn't want to.
on friday i went to my big papaw's house to help grandma clean. and there were 5 new kittens! they were sooooo adorable! but they're already wild like the rest of the cats. it's really sad, there're so many cats at his house, and they're all wild. my mamaw's cat shadow is actually one of them though. i convinced my mom to let me bring him home temporarily, but she said that we couldn't keep him though. so then mamaw ended up offering to take him cuz mommy couldn't keep him after telling me we wouldn't. =) but anyway, every time i see those poor little kittens (and my dad and grandpa say things like, "more food for the foxes!") i want to find a home for them! but the bad thing is (besides the fact that nobody wants them) that you have to catch them before they get wild, which is while they still need their mother. i want to post something somewhere advertising free kittens, but my mom doesn't want me to because that could get someone's hopes up and then i might not be able to catch one, and that would let them down.
ok, well that paragraph got me good and depressed, so now i'll tell u where we're gonna go next friday (not this friday,but next). we are going to kentucky for a family reunion! i'm sooooooooooo excited! that is definitely one of my favorite places. maybe even my favorite! it ranks right up there with camp! i just love spending time with my cousins that i only get to see once a year. and we didn't even get to go last year because.....well, i won't say why we didn't get to go, but we didn't. so now we're, like, waaaaay over do for a visit! i cannot wait!
okay, well my family is yelling at me to get off and come watch "high school musical: get in the picture" so i gotta go!

sky watch friday!!!!

well, it's skywatch friday again! these are some kind of vines on the edge of the woods, i thought they looked cool.

i know this kinda looks like the watery sun, but it's really different, it's even on a different day.
this is called a caster plant, it is growing in my grandpa's garden. you might be able to see the whole thing in the pic of ANT janet mowing the grass. i'm not sure.
this is a bird feeder that my friend kirsten mad for us a long time ago (but not in a galaxy far away =)
once again, the sky didn't actually look like this, it's just something the camera did for some reason. i thought it looked cool.

what's up

hey! so, yeah, i'm really tired cuz my mom and i have been staying up late watching the olympics every nite. well, ya know, it's not late for some people, but it is for me. the olympics are supposed to go off at 12am, but they've been going off more like anywhere from 12:30-1:00. yeah, but it's been worth it for sure! we got to see (live) the amazing swimming relay with michael phelps. it was soooooooo exciting! in case u don't know usa beat france by 8/100 of a second! (if that's the way u write it) yeah, it was sooooo amazing! the guy that was swimming the last leg (the one that actually won) was jason lezak. it has been so much fun watching michael phelps win all those gold medals! he now has 11!
we have also been watching the gymnastics. that has been fun too!
today my mom and i got our hair cut. mine is now much shorter than it was in the pics i posted recently.
tomorrow we are having erin and her mom, and jaymee and her mom over for brunch. it's erin's mom's (ms. colleen's) bday.
last saturday we went to a baseball game with jacob's family (okay i am going to call them the gs) our team won, and afterward we watched fireworks.
well i'm gonna go. i'll post more later!

here is ANT janet (or grandma judy as jamie called her =) mowing grass (or should i say KILLING it!) see the cloud of dirt around her? yeah, it's not hazy because it's a bad quality pic, it's dust following her around! daddy likes to make fun of her for killing the grass, yeah, after she mowed, the grass is comepletely brown!

this is the tiger picture that mamaw bought for me for christmas. i love it ! it is soooooo pretty! i wish i had a pet tiger!
this is the truck that i will most likely be driving when i get my liscense. it is quite old. it's a stick shift, and i cannot remember what kind of truck it is. oh well. a couple weeks ago raven and i made a pie for grandma.

skywatch friday

it's skywatch friday again (actually today is thursday). okay so these might not be great quality photos, but i felt like doing fun pics of raven and jamie because today was there last day with us. so if u don't see as many exclamation points in this post it's because i just don't feel very happy or excited today.

well here are raven and jamie (oh, this is my favorite picture, i love the sky behind it. it's so white.) :

this one didn't turn out very well (it's too dark) but i still kinda like it. (except, surprisingly, jamie isn't smiling) jamie is such a goofball. i think i got, like, one picture of him actually doing a real smile.
once again he is just so hilarious! and the funny thing is, he's like that all the time, not just when he's posing for pictures. yeah, he and raven are really sweet.
finally, a pic where jamie is smiling! raven smiled for all of them, and i was smiling and laughing the whole time =) okay, this one seems kinda random, but grandma really liked it, and i do too, so i wanted to put it on here. this is her tomato plant (well i guess it's her's and grandpa's)

oops!

okay, so i named my last post "peach picking and sleepover" and then i forgot the sleepover part. so erin spent the night the other nite (yeah, i can't remember what day it was). we had fun.
right now i'm quite sad. raven and jamie are going home tomorrow =(. so raven hadn't watched 'high school musical' yet and i wanted her to watch it and the 2nd one also. i reserved them both at our library, and we got the 1st one, but the 2nd one hasn't come in. yeah, i was kinda sad cuz i wouldn't get to watch it with raven, and then i decided to call mrs. j (i'm gonna start calling her that cuz i'm tired of calling her 'jacob's mom') cuz they have that movie. so raven and i are going to have a sleepover tonite, and we might get to watch it tonite, if not we'll watch it tomorrow.
okay, as u can prob tell, i don't have alot to write about (i just typed a whole paragraph about how i borrowed a movie from someone =)
