Hi I tried to leave a comment on your friends new blog but it wouldn't let me. Let her know someone is reading. OK?
yeah, i know! it wouldn't let me either! so i emailed her and told her about it, hopefully she'll be able to fix it. =)
oh yeah, i told her that u were reading her blog! i'm sure that she will be happy =)
Hey Beth,
I finally made it in from Kansas…it was really cold…thank goodness training classes are in doors! I saw your note to post any comments to a newer post, so here you go…
I know what you mean about those who profess Christianity verses those who live Christianity. How we live tells a lot about us, and the world watches to justify itself in its sin when we falter. Pray and be a witness…listen to that still small voice of the Holy Spirit and continue to live a good testimony.
Although I don’t believe the Bible teaches animals go to heaven or hell, I wouldn’t say that it is ‘stupid’ to think about your pets, for Scripture says, ‘A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast’ [Proverbs 12:10a]. Nor is it ‘stupid’ to have dreams and hopes of enjoyment in this life. God has given us this world (though now cursed with sin) to enjoy, just not the things of sin and not more than Him and what He has for us in eternity. A desire to ‘grow up and get married and have a family’ is part of being a girl, a lady, a mother…and your wish to save yourself for your future husband is a marvelous stance of trusting God to give you your heart’s desire in due season while refraining from sin. Keep the faith!
Okay…I was able to get to chapter 58 in ‘Wings of Dawn’. I have really enjoyed it and appreciate you mentioning it. Hopefully I will finish it this coming week.
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts about book two…honestly, I do. Could you be a little more specific maybe?
You wrote: ‘pretty much the first half is alot of information. it's really interesting, and it's VERY important, but i was thinking that if book three is like that too, then you could maybe break it up a little by putting one chapter about what's going on in the 'darkness' and in the council meetings and stuff. and then the next chapter could be about what's happening with vandor and kayla and the main characters.’
Do you mean I need to swap back and forth from the ‘good’ side and ‘bad’ side…meaning I may have put too much of the ‘darkness’ all in a row? Honestly, your comments are welcome, so please do share them. Most of the time when I ask family and friends, they simply say ‘I like it’…which may be true…but really I like suggestions…which will only increase my writing skills and improve my story…at least I think so.
Also…I did finish another chapter for book three…quite possibly there is a character in it that you may know…I could email the rough draft to your mom if you would like, or you could just wait to review it once the book is done some time next year most likely…
Hope all are well in your family…
Tim
hi mr. waldrop!
oh yeah, i'm sure it was cold! it's FREEZING here! there's actually snow on the football field at va tech! my dad and ANT janet went to see the game today. is it cold right now where u live?
i guess ur probably right about those things not being stupid, but it just kinda feels like it when you think about an eternity with God!
i'm so glad you like it! i was worried you wouldn't b/c it's a very different book i think. i just knew that i enjoyed it =)
i'm sorry that my comment was confusing. believe me, it seems like whenever i try to explain something to people nobody understands me b/c i'm so awful at expressing my thoughts =)
anyway, i just mean that it seemed like the first half of the book was focusing on one thing, and there wasn't much about vandor and kayla. and then the second half was more about them. i mean, i really honestly loved the book, and i thought it was amazing, but that was just one thing i noticed about it.
alot of books i've read have had alot of different storylines going on within the book. so they mix it up by doing one chapter about this person, and then the next chapter about this meeting that's going on, and so on. i don't know if i've explained it any better than i did last time, but i hope so =)
oh yeah! wow, i almost forgot to tell you that i finished the second book, and i really did love it! it even made me cry! i'm sure you know what part it was that made me cry, but i'm not going to say it, b/c my mom wants to read the books too. =) but it was really awesome! after i finished it i let matt borrow it. he was very happy to get it. he's probably finished it by now and will give it back to me tomorrow. his family is coming over tomorrow after church.
oh yeah, i'm not sure now who it was that shot jagare. i thought it was mazak, but i'm not sure now!!! i would think it could be kayla, but i don't think she was even born yet when that happened! then i also think it could be jagare's 'right hand man' i guess you could say. the pale that rides rubicund. i can't remember his name though. but i could see it being him b/c he wants to rule erde. but i really don't know! lol, both books were really good, and i can't wait to read the third book.
speaking of that, i really want to say yes about you sending the rough draft of book three. but i also kinda want to wait! errrr! ummmm.....i guess i would like to read the rough draft, so if you could send it that would be awesome! but if that's inconvenient or anything, then it's fine if you don't send it. =)
everyone is good in my family. i hope you and your kids are doing well! thank you for all your kindness, i've very much enjoyed getting to know you and reading your books and everything! once again, thank you so much for sending them to me. i would like to see if our church library will order them b/c i'm sure alot of other ppl would like to read them. but idk if they will or not since i wouldn't be reading them since i own them....idk. i hope they will!
well i hope you have (and have had) a good weekend!

Good Evening Beth,
Well, there was no snow in Kansas, but it was about 16 degrees according to the vehicle one day with strong winds blowing. Today, I believe it was in the low 70’s here in Louisiana.
Yes, I see what you mean about book two. I think it is because my original idea was about a King (Christ) verses a Dragon (Satan), and the people and their lives would be secondary to the battle of those characters. Then I changed and created the characters, telling the story mostly from Vandor’s position. Book two my mindset went back to the larger scope of the tribulation, and not just the main characters. This is probably why the first part of the book does mostly deal with the Darkness. And although Vandor is mentioned, you are right, I really don’t pick back up with him till about chapter 8. I probably noticed it less that you (the reader) since remember I said I write straight through my thoughts without really an outline of what and when things happen.
I glanced through book three, and it looks as though I may have done the same thing…sort of. I introduce and give chapters to new characters, and although mentioned I actually don’t return to Vandor until chapter 10; although the previous chapters do cover both the good and bad sides. I spoke about this to my editor at church and mentioned the advice you had given. She said you were right that the characters I had wanted my readers to fall in love with needed to be mentioned earlier. I said that I wanted people to fall in love with my new characters…she laughed and said no, the old ones. So, thank you for the advice, and I am working on rearranging some things now…but like I tell my editor, no promises…It is MY book… hahaha! No…really, you explained it very well.
I am glad that you enjoyed the second book as well…and honestly pleased that it made you cry. Yes I know the part and actually I lent my rough draft to a friend of mine and she was upset with me because it took a month or so before I finished the rest so she could read past that point. :0)
I see you mention again wondering who shot Jagare…you will find out in book three, and please remind me to tell you my thinking behind it…having the reader wonder was done on purpose, but not entirely… :0) A few hints: 1. Kayla was not born yet. 2. Piradad brought Rubicund to resurrect Jagare from the wound.
As for book three…I wouldn’t dare send you the entire rough draft for I am not done yet… :0) And, really I would hate for you to have to only read some then wait maybe months until I was able to finish it. What I will send you is one chapter and a few explanations about it. It is my latest chapter, one written while in Kansas, and the first mention of Vandor and Kayla in book three – well working on changing that.
I hope to write a note and send it to your parents’ email tonight. Thanks for asking how we were doing…will write in the email. I always enjoy meeting people and love to talk as you can tell…so it has been a pleasure to get to know you and your family a little…and to get your feedback on my books. Maybe I can send you another copy of book one for your church library, I just don’t have any more copies of book two. I’ll let you know if I do.
Tim
oh my goodness! wow. that's cold! i thought it was cold here. it feels freezing in our house! i think it's like 65 in here. i want to turn on the fireplace!!
well, like you said it's YOUR book, lol, so if you don't want to change it i'm sure it would still be a wonderful book!!!!!! =)
that's funny! i would've been upset with you too! lol
ok...thanks for the hints! yeah, that wouldn't make much sense for piradad (thanks for reminding me of the name =) to kill jagare, and then pretty much raise him back to life. i would say that rubicund might have killed him, but i don't know if that would work or not....hmmm...right now i really wish i knew more about what the Bible says about the person that kills the antichrist...well, i don't even know if it says anything about the person! *sigh*
so is the chapter you sent me the first chapter?
NO WAY!!!!! thank you soooooo much for offering to send the book to our church, but i wanted the church to BUY it! lol! wow, that is so sweet though, but please don't do that! thank you anyway though! yeah, i feel bad that you sent the books to ME for free! so i would feel even worse if you sent them to the church for free! =)
i haven't gotten a chance to read the email yet, but i will read it sometime soon!
~beth
Well, the Bible doesn’t really say anything (that I know of) about ‘who’ gives the deadly wound, only that the Antichrist is healed from the deadly wound. There are so many interesting things written of the Antichrist in Revelation 13 that I did not even incorporate into my books.
The chapter I sent you is entitled ‘Gift of Sight’ and is currently chapter 11, and my latest chapter written while in Kansas. My first chapter is downloadable from http://www.landoferde.com/ under ‘Free PDF Preview’ on the left menu, post ‘Book Three: Andeis - Free Preview’ or here:
http://members.cox.net/tlw97/landoferde/pdf/andeis_preview_chapter2.pdf
Well, really the first chapter is the ‘preview’ chapter I put at the end of book two, so I guess the above would really be chapter 2.
I am probably a little over mid way in writing book three. I am still unclear as to what all will happen next, and unsure as to what may happen to each character. I know this probably sounds weird coming from the writer, but things seem to fall in place as I write one chapter at a time. :0)
Don’t feel bad that I sent you the books. It has been enjoyable to discuss the books with you, and you were kind enough to share them with others.
Once you read the chapter I sent…in all honesty…if you have ideas, please do send them my way.
Wishing you and your family a great Thanksgiving!
Tim
ok, sometime i'll have to read that chapter, i think i might have read through revelation before, but i wasn't paying special attention to anything.
thanks for the link and for sending that chapter to me!
oh i totally understand! it's cool that you make it up as you go along! that would make it so much more fun b/c then it's like you're reading it instead of just writing it!
ok, i'll tell you if i have any ideas!
i hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving as well!!!
